today we have studied the list of verbs followed by to+infinitive on page 154 from the book, and then you have done some speaking in pairs with the set of questions on page 53, exercise 5 c to practice these verbs.
After that, we have started lesson 5b, we have read the text on page 54 and commented on the different opinions written there. Then, I have explained the situations in which we use verb-ing: after some verbs, after prepositions and when the verb works as a subject at the beginning of a sentence. We have read the list of verbs followed by -ing on page 154 and we have done exercises from section 5b on page 135. Finally, I have explained verbs try, remember and start, because they can be followed by either to + infinitive or -ing. (see the examples on page 154)

Hi!
today we have revised the expression should have + past participle to make criticism about a past action or event, and we have corrected page 36 from the workbook. Afterwards, we have talked about the new anti-smoking law in Spain, and you have stated different for and against ideas. Subsequently, I have handed two photocopies on how to write a for and against essay, with some ideas, pieces of advice, useful expressions and an exercise that we have done and corrected in class. You have to write a composition on the topic: celebrities running for public office. If you prefer to talk about the anti-smoking law or the quota system, two other topics that we have discussed in class, it is also possible.
Finally, and as an introduction to the lesson 6D, we have mentioned some examples of discrimination (racism, sexism, ageism...)

Hello!
today we have worked on pages 32-33 from the book. First, we have commented on the promises on exercise a from the reading section, talking about the situations in which you make these promises, who says this, etc. Then we have read the texts in yellow to match them to the promises, and after that, we have done exercise c, matching definitions and words.
Afterwards, you have described in pairs the pictures on page 33, and you have filled in the speech bubbles, writing what you think the characters are saying. We have also done exercise b from this page.
Finally, we have done and corrected the two exercises from section 3C on page 131

Hi!
today we have done a speaking activity to remember the conditional, and we have talked about different topics which you would like to comment on if you had the chance to talk to politicians. We have proposed the topic of the new smoking law to have a small debate next week. Think about some ideas for and some ideas against the new law and we'll talk about it on Tuesday.
We have also read and commented on the texts on pages 60-61, I have explained the use of should have and we have done the exercise 1 on page 61.

Hi! today we have corrected exercises 1, 2 and 3 on page 35 from the workbook, to remember I wish and if only, and then we have done the speaking activity on page 140 from the book.
After that, we have practiced the listening skill with two different exercises, one to fill in the gaps with the missing words, and the other a multiple choice activity to choose the best answer a, b or c. These exercises are similar to those you may have in the exam.
Finally we did the vocabulary exercise about embarrassment on page 60 from the book.

today we have corrected the exercise on page 24 from the workbook. Then, we have done the speaking exercises a and b on page 31 from the book and we have explained some new expressions. After that, you have done a speaking activity in pairs where you have to talk about something related to the future for 30 seconds. Finally I have handed a photocopy about New Year's resolutions and we have done the activity and talked about the typical resolutions for the new year. On the other side of the photocopy you have an activity on the tale A Christmas Carol to revise present, past, and future. You can have a look at it if you want.

in the first hour we have worked with Scott today. You have talked about the financial crunch and Christmas.

We have agreed to read the two first stories from the book Jigs and Reels. On January the 7th, the first day after Christmas, I'll ask whether you have read them or not, and we'll set a date to talk about them.

today we have revised the different ways of talking about the future, and then, you have done a speaking activity where you had to talk to all your classmates, it was with a photocopy where there were some plans written, and you had to ask people if they were going to do that and ask for further information.
After that, we have worked on page 30 from the book, we have read the YOU sentences on the example and then we have matched the pessimist phrases from exercise b to the plans.I have explained the future with will and shall. Finally, in pairs, you have written some more examples of plans and what a pessimist will say.
Homework: workbook page 22 and page 23, exercise c, and 2 Vocabulary.
I have handed two photocopies about the future to do at Christmas, and we have also agreed to read the introduction and the first story of the book Ghastly Ghosts! for January the 7th, the first day after the holidays.

Afterwards, you have done another speaking activity where you had to talk to all your classmates, it was with a photocopy where there were some plans written, and you had to ask people if they were going to do that and ask for further information.
After that, we have worked on page 30 from the book, we have read the YOU sentences on the example and then we have matched the pessimist phrases from exercise b to the plans. Finally, in pairs, you have written some more examples of plans and what a pessimist will say.

After that, we have read the grammar reference on page 130 and we have done the exercises from section 3A on page 131. Finally, we have done the speaking activity on page 116, you had to decide which holiday you prefer and then make plans using present continuous or be going to.
In the second hour Scott has been in class and he has done some activities related to Christmas and be going to.

today we have done the speaking and vocabulary exercises 1 and 2 from page 58. After that, we have done the vocabulary exercises on the photocopy I handed on Tuesday (on the other side of the story of Coco the clown). Then, in groups, you have created different political parties with your own manifesto, promises, etc.
Finally we have started correcting the conditional exercises, though there are two exercises left to correct next day.

today we have spent the first hour with Scott, he has talked about the environment, and you have done a listening activity and commented on some vocabulary.
After that, I have explained briefly the structure of the narrative text, and you have to write a story for next week, choosing this beginning or this ending:
beginning: I could never forget that cold morning...
ending: back in my room, I felt confused. "I must have been dreaming" I thought to myself.
Afterwards, I have handed a photocopy about politics vocabulary and we have done an activity in pairs to match the beginnings and endings of different sentences.

today we have corrected workbook, page 19. Then, we have commented on page 25 from the book, the story behind a photo, we have done the exercises and I have told you to write a similar composition describing a photo you like.
Afterwards, we have started unit 3. First, we have talked about airports, problems that you may have at the airport... and we have read the texts on pages 28-29, and done exercise b, filling the gaps with a question. We have explained some vocabulary and we have done section 4, vocabulary, expressions with look.
Homework for Wednesday: pages 26-27, the grammar and vocabulary questions and the reading. We will do pronunciation and listening in class.

Después hemos explicado las palabras but, because, so, although, y hemos hecho el ejercicio de la página 22 y los de la página 129, section 2D. También hemos hecho el vocabulary exercise de la página 23.

hoy en la primera hora hemos trabajado con la historia de la página 22, la habéis leido y ordenado, y la hemos comparado con la que hicisteis en speaking hace algunas semanas. Después hemos escuchado la historia y hemos hecho los ejercicios de listening de la página 23. También hemos hecho el ejercicio de vocabulario (matching) de esta misma página.
